General Information
Participants are advised to make their own travel and accommodation arrangements.
The Knowledge Pavilion is very close to the airport (4km). From the airport, a taxi ride to the Pavilion will cost at most 5 euro and will take about 5 minutes. From the city center, a taxi ride will take about 20-30 minutes and will cost around 15 euro.
Public transportation is very affordable, and we especially recommend the subway for travelling within the city.
When you book your hotel or hostel, choose locations close to the Lisbon Oceanarium and the Atlantic Pavilion (Pavilhão Atlântico). Both locations are part of the Park of Nations (Parque das Nações) and are at walking distance from the Science Pavilion.
If you prefer staying in the city center, choose areas or landmarks such as: Rossio, Marquis de Pombal, Chiado, Restauradores, Jardim Zoologico (the Zoo), Praca d' Espanha, Gulbenkian, Campo Pequeno. It will take around 20-30 minutes to commute to the Knowledge Pavilion.
Also avoid Cascais, Costa da Caparica, Ericeira, Estoril, Sesimbra and Sintra. These are regions that are part of greater Lisbon, and require 1 to 2 hours of travel to reach the Knowledge Pavilion. However, all are beautiful places for sightseeing.
